April 13th / Spaghetti and Pasta / Paul and Kitsy's
It seems like forever since I've seen a lot of you--and I guess it has only been a week.
Spaghetti, meatballs, and gourmet pasta for dinner on Monday.
We'll take sometime to share a few of our personal faith stories - where we've come, where we think we're going, and how God is a part of all of that. Let one of us know if you feel up to sharing a bit on Monday.
We'll bring a pot of Spaghetti, meatball, and pasta (I guess that would be two pots). Feel free to post what you are bringing.

Needs for Brandon and Jody
First, they are needing Prayer for healing of B's current infection, then healing of the cancer.
Second, they are wanting to see people from the group. They are very thankful to be involved with this community. They are up for visitors as soon as they move to a bigger room. So hopefully some of us could car pool together. It's a hour there and back so plan on 3 hours or more if you are able to visit them. They are having lonely times and just the encouragement of a visit does wonders for them.
If you feel you don't know them well enough, please VISIT ANYWAY!! They are an awesome couple and really want to get to know people from out Monday night group. I promise you will be blessed from knowing them better, I know I have.
They would also like to have a group meeting at the hospital sometime. Maybe a weekend day would work better, so let's plan on Monday to discuss a time that might work for us to all go together for prayer, food and fellowship.
I would like to go up Friday morning if anyone wants to go, call me. 979 8797.
Love, Brooke

Mar 23rd - Pot Luck-Paul and Kitsy's
Hey!
For those of us who prefer controlled chaos we are going to pot luck with no theme. Imagine the risk. Feel free to post your contribution.
A few people are going to share their faith stories on Monday night, which I think will be a great way to better understand each other and see how God works differently in all of us. Should be good.
Well I think that covers the bases.

ICE CREAM Bar at Paul and Kitsy's
On Monday, being Spring break and all for some in the group, we thought it would be fun to get together and have a GAME NIGHT. Additionally, we're going to eat anything that goes along with ice cream. So a couple of us will bring the ICE CREAM and everyone else just bring "STUFF" that makes ice cream more tasty.
No dinner on Monday, just games and dessert. We'll see you around 6:30.

Rice, Desserts, Salads, Veggies, Fruit, Drinks, etc.
Post if you would, so we don't have 15 gallons of rice left over on Monday night.
On Monday, we're going to talk about Sudan and a few issues related. We'll also spend a little time praying together, as time permits. We'll start eating at 6:30.
We have a tentative March schedule. This is what we're planning on, but we want to be open to doing something different if so led.

Paul and Kitsy have offered their home this week and they live out West, off of Wakarusa St. This will enable Brandon and Jody to join us.
If you trust my directions to their home they are below. We'll eat @ 6:30pm!

erin's additions to dinner
Um, in a moment of mental abstraction last week, I forgot that it was Monday on Monday. I remembered that 20/30 somethings happened on Monday, but I forgot that the day was actually Monday, which is why I didn't show up. HOWEVER, not this week!
I will bring some fiesta-type veggies and guacamole.
Looking forward to some fellowship! (veiled LOTR insinuation there.....)
Mon Feb 16th at Sheltons
For Monday, Chicken Enchiladas will be the main dish for our Mexican "theme."
We'll do the enchiladas. And I think Joe and Courtney are bringing Spanish rice.
We'll eat around 6:30! See you then!

assistance por favor
Hey there! We're going to shoot for being there at your place at 6:15ish...I have a lesson that I need to teach at 5. Do you have a large pot for pasta? I've got the sauce going in the crockpot but would like to boil the pasta when we get there. Does that work for you? If you can get some water going, I'll finish it up when we get there. Thanks! Call me if we need alternate plans...Erica

Monday Feb 9th @Shelton's
Italian night it is! Toby and Erica are bringing the pasta and sauce--feel free to bring something else that "fits" the theme (feel free to post it on the blog for all to know and anticipate).
We had talked about meeting at the Gray's, but after talking to Brandon, he anticipates that his counts are going to be too low next Monday--we'll try for another time soon.
From last week ...
Among the splattering of chili, chips, corn casserole, and Kahlua brownies and the impersonating of famous (Pamla Anderson) and not so famous (Paul Kagame-thank you Chad) celebrities, we discovered that the mass of "20/30 something" people barely fit in the Shelton house--and we love it!
As things simmered down a bit, a few more serious ideas came out in our more serious discusion time:
-we discovered that many of us feel isolated in our lives -- issolated as people -- issolated as Christians in non-Christian circles
-we found that many want a group that is people centered, but that has an element of structure that inspires relationships, growth, and community
-we want to have a place where people can be quickly known and quickly know others
-we want to serve together, learn together, pray together, and share together
So we are excited. We think that God is doing something bigger than the sum of us young people.
For Monday Feb 9th, we'll eat and hang out until about 7:30. About 7:30 we'll have a time of group discussion, sharing, and prayer. We're shooting to be done by 8:30. Feel free to hang out until Bethany and I kick you out!
Pray for our group if you would! Hope to see you Monday!
