Italian night it is! Toby and Erica are bringing the pasta and sauce--feel free to bring something else that "fits" the theme (feel free to post it on the blog for all to know and anticipate).
We had talked about meeting at the Gray's, but after talking to Brandon, he anticipates that his counts are going to be too low next Monday--we'll try for another time soon.
From last week ...
Among the splattering of chili, chips, corn casserole, and Kahlua brownies and the impersonating of famous (Pamla Anderson) and not so famous (Paul Kagame-thank you Chad) celebrities, we discovered that the mass of "20/30 something" people barely fit in the Shelton house--and we love it!
As things simmered down a bit, a few more serious ideas came out in our more serious discusion time:
-we discovered that many of us feel isolated in our lives -- issolated as people -- issolated as Christians in non-Christian circles
-we found that many want a group that is people centered, but that has an element of structure that inspires relationships, growth, and community
-we want to have a place where people can be quickly known and quickly know others
-we want to serve together, learn together, pray together, and share together
So we are excited. We think that God is doing something bigger than the sum of us young people.
For Monday Feb 9th, we'll eat and hang out until about 7:30. About 7:30 we'll have a time of group discussion, sharing, and prayer. We're shooting to be done by 8:30. Feel free to hang out until Bethany and I kick you out!
Pray for our group if you would! Hope to see you Monday!
