Monday Feb 23rd at Paul and Kitsy's House

Hey! We're doing Stir Fry on Monday night. So I guess that makes it an Eastern Asian theme.

Paul and Kitsy have offered their home this week and they live out West, off of Wakarusa St. This will enable Brandon and Jody to join us.

If you trust my directions to their home they are below. We'll eat @ 6:30pm!

From 15th and Wakarusa:

North on Wakarusa

West (L) on Harvard (between 15th and 6th St)

Follow the road as it curves.

At the round about go 3/4 away around and take Plymouth South

Follow Plymouth as it curves and turns into Waverly, end at 1137 Waverly

White's dinner addition

We will have eggrolls and possibly fortune cookies. :-) Looking forward to finally being a part of the group!

Theisen's Addition to Supper

We are bring Taco Bites..!

The Long's will be bringing...

Queso! No fiesta is complete without oodles of cheesy goodness. See you all there! We can't wait!

erin's additions to dinner

Um, in a moment of mental abstraction last week, I forgot that it was Monday on Monday. I remembered that 20/30 somethings happened on Monday, but I forgot that the day was actually Monday, which is why I didn't show up. HOWEVER, not this week!

I will bring some fiesta-type veggies and guacamole.

Looking forward to some fellowship! (veiled LOTR insinuation there.....)

Mon Feb 16th at Sheltons

For Monday, Chicken Enchiladas will be the main dish for our Mexican "theme."

We'll do the enchiladas. And I think Joe and Courtney are bringing Spanish rice.

We'll eat around 6:30! See you then!

Theisen's Addition to Supper

We are bring cheesy garlic bread (made with mayo, green onions, and shredded cheese).
Also, banana pudding!

assistance por favor

Hey there! We're going to shoot for being there at your place at 6:15ish...I have a lesson that I need to teach at 5. Do you have a large pot for pasta? I've got the sauce going in the crockpot but would like to boil the pasta when we get there. Does that work for you? If you can get some water going, I'll finish it up when we get there. Thanks! Call me if we need alternate plans...Erica

Monday Feb 9th @Shelton's

Italian night it is! Toby and Erica are bringing the pasta and sauce--feel free to bring something else that "fits" the theme (feel free to post it on the blog for all to know and anticipate).

We had talked about meeting at the Gray's, but after talking to Brandon, he anticipates that his counts are going to be too low next Monday--we'll try for another time soon.

From last week ...
Among the splattering of chili, chips, corn casserole, and Kahlua brownies and the impersonating of famous (Pamla Anderson) and not so famous (Paul Kagame-thank you Chad) celebrities, we discovered that the mass of "20/30 something" people barely fit in the Shelton house--and we love it!

As things simmered down a bit, a few more serious ideas came out in our more serious discusion time:
-we discovered that many of us feel isolated in our lives -- issolated as people -- issolated as Christians in non-Christian circles
-we found that many want a group that is people centered, but that has an element of structure that inspires relationships, growth, and community
-we want to have a place where people can be quickly known and quickly know others
-we want to serve together, learn together, pray together, and share together

So we are excited. We think that God is doing something bigger than the sum of us young people.

For Monday Feb 9th, we'll eat and hang out until about 7:30. About 7:30 we'll have a time of group discussion, sharing, and prayer. We're shooting to be done by 8:30. Feel free to hang out until Bethany and I kick you out!

Pray for our group if you would! Hope to see you Monday!

20/30 Somethings Group Starts Tonight

Hey. So we thought we might try this and see if it work for us.

We are getting together at the Shelton's House @ 6:30pm tonight (Monday, February 2nd). Bring dinner / dessert to share if you can. We'll eat together, probably play a few group games, and maybe share a few ideas for the group.

Hope you can come!

Our address is 1709 Delaware St. If you need directions, I think they are on the church website under the young adult group.
